Jeffrey Walter

Jeffrey James Walter (19 August 1907 - 22 April 1983) was an Aurelian politician. He served as the ninth Prime Minister of Aurelia.

Walter entered into politics in his early 40's by joining the Labor Party, and had lots of charm and optimism that helped him become the Leader of the Party in the mid 1950's. Walter led the party into the 1964 election, winning by a narrow margin.

During his term, the most significant part of the Alaoni civil rights and cultural movement occurred. One of the key parts of this Revolution was the peaceful protest that was the 1966 Fort Ferguson occupation and the multiple protests in response to it, which Walter supported, but didn't want getting out of hand. In order to ease tensions, Walter passed the Alaoni Language Act just a few months after the occupation, saying that all public schools must teach Alaoni as a compulsory language. Also during his term, due to him being a feminist, Walter passed the severely controversial Abortion Act in 1965, which lead to many religious and Liberal members in Parliament sending Walter a petition in 1966 to cancel the act, which Walter failed to respond to.
